CHAPTER VIII: CYCLE OF LIFE

During each chemotherapy I could feel my body dying. Every night I wondered if I will be able to open my eyes the next morning. It is when I was dying that I learnt to truly live.

Every living being has its time. Every animal, every vegetable and every cell has its time. Everything has an end. Nothing is permanent.

I learned to live by learning how to die.

The biggest fear of humans is impermanent. We don’t talk about time or death. We prefer to live in fear and reject what actually is. If we want to live freely in the present, there is only one solution: accept and embrace the reality of impermanence.

Cancer has been the key that opened my consciousness.
